LifeQuest — Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the LifeQuest mobile app and related services ("the Service") provided by Bohdan ("we", "us", "developer"), an individual based in Norway.

By creating an account or using LifeQuest, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your jurisdiction — in Norway and most of the EU that age is 13–16, requiring parental consent below the local threshold) to use LifeQuest. By creating an account you confirm you meet that requirement.

2. Your account

• You are responsible for your account credentials and all activity on your account.
• Provide accurate information when registering.
• Don't share your account with others or attempt to access someone else's account.
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

3. Acceptable use

While using LifeQuest, you agree not to:

1. Post or share content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, or defamatory
2. Impersonate another person or create fake accounts
3. Spam, scrape, automate, or use the Service for purposes other than personal productivity
4. Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code (except as permitted by applicable law)
5. Bypass any rate limits, security features, or access controls
6. Use the Service to distribute malware, viruses, or harmful code
7. Violate any laws applicable to you

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

4. User content (UGC)

Social features (friends, squads, challenges, profile name, avatar) allow you to share limited information with other users.

• You retain ownership of the content you create
• You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, store, and transmit your content only as needed to operate the Service
• You agree your content does not infringe anyone else's rights
• You can delete your content at any time by deleting the relevant items or your account

Reporting & blocking

If you encounter abusive content or behavior from another user, use the Report option in the app (Friends / Squads / Challenges / Leaderboard). Reports are reviewed and may result in content removal, warnings, or account suspension. Reports are typically actioned within 24 hours as required by App Store Guideline 1.2.

You can also block other users from any user actions menu to prevent them from interacting with you or seeing you in shared social surfaces.

5. Gamification economy

LifeQuest includes in-app XP, levels, coins, ranks, achievements, and cosmetic items.

• These are virtual rewards with no monetary value
• They cannot be exchanged for real money, transferred to other accounts, or refunded
• We may adjust XP rates, item prices, rewards, or balance the economy at any time without compensation
• Cheating, exploiting bugs, or using automation to inflate XP/coins may result in reset or termination
• LifeQuest currently does not offer any paid in-app purchases or subscriptions. If we add paid features in the future, we will update these Terms and provide clear pricing before you purchase.

6. Service availability

• The Service is provided "as is" and "as available"
• We don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, outages, and bugs may occur.
• Features may be added, modified, or removed without notice
• We aim to back up data but cannot guarantee no data loss

7. Termination

• You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting your account from Account → Delete account permanently
• We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms
• Upon termination, your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy

8. Disclaimers

• LifeQuest is not a medical, mental health, or fitness professional service
• Workout, focus, and habit features are for personal-productivity use only
• Consult a qualified professional before starting any new exercise regimen or relying on the app for health-related decisions
• To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we make no warranties about results, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages
• Lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, or business interruption
• Any amounts exceeding what you paid us in the past 12 months (which for a free app is €0)

Note on Norwegian/EU consumer law: Nothing in these Terms limits any statutory rights you may have as a consumer under Norwegian or EU law (e.g., the Norwegian Consumer Sales Act, EU Consumer Rights Directive). Where a limitation would be unenforceable under those laws, the limit is whatever the law permits.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless against third-party claims arising from:

• Your content
• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms or applicable law

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in-app or via email. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Norway with jurisdiction over the developer's place of residence, unless the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence gives you a different right (for EU consumers, the right to bring a claim in your country of residence is preserved).

If you are an EU/EEA consumer, you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr as an alternative to court proceedings.
